We believe all students, regardless of economic status or family structure, are entitled to learn in a system that gives them the best chance for success. It is our vision that if we design a school that removes the barriers children in the child welfare system face by providing support services, children will be better prepared to achieve success in school. A major component to achieving this vision is will be co-locating the school with The Foundling's Bronx-based community services.
A new, LEED certified, environmentally friendly building is in development at 170 Brown Place. This new building, owned and operated by The New York Foundling, will be the future home for Mott Haven Academy Charter School as well as The New York Foundling's Bronx Community Services.
The school opened at a temporary location in PS 43 at 165 Brown Place, Bronx, NY 10454. Mott Haven Academy Charter School will move to its new building, directly across the street, in 2010.
